Destination: Montigo Resorts, Nongsa (Batam, Indonesia)
Located just a 30-minute ferry ride from Singapore is the 5-star Montigo Resorts Nongsa. The beachfront villa is a popular vacation destination amongst Singaporeans and weekend rates start from an average of S$478 per night at a 2-bedroom villa (breakfast included).
Spanning across 3 levels and 279 square metres, each villa at Montigo Resorts Nonga is equipped with a spacious living room, roof terrace and a private infinity pool. It’s perfect for couples and families looking to unwind from the hectic city life.
Before proceeding to book a staycation at Montigo Resorts Nongsa,
here are several factors you should bear in mind:
#1 Holidaymakers come to Montigo Resorts with an agenda to stay in
You will be spending either ALL or the bulk of your time in Montigo Resorts’ compound. If the idea of staying put on an exclusive coast for a weekend irks you.. Then think twice! Because you would have to travel for an hour via car from Montigo Resorts to get to Batam’s city centre.
#2 Montigo Resorts Nongsa Does Look Better In Pictures
Honestly speaking, Montigo Resorts Nongsa was not as maintained as we expected. The walls could be cleaner and the furniture needed some upkeep.. But we had a great time nonetheless.
#3 We Hope Your Travelling Companions Aren’t Boring
There aren’t many exciting activities here… So we seriously hope your company is great! Most of our time was spent lounging by the pool – which was well, therapeutic. On a separate note, the private beach has heaps of flies :( There is also an on-site massage parlour if you’re keen. But do book a slot upon check-in due to the overwhelming number of guests over the weekend.
#4 Dining Options Are Fairly Limited / Do Make Early Arrangements
Complimentary buffet breakfast is provided at Tadd’s every morning, but you are on your own after that. If you are not heading out of the resort, the only other on-site dining options you are left with are namely Pantai and TIIGO Beach Club.
Alternatively, you can make prior arrangements with the concierge to arrange a private meal by the jetty or host an in-villa barbecue. We had a private dinner by the pier (diners can choose from either a International or Indonesian menu) which was incredibly romantic :’)
#5 BYO Booze and Floats
Bring along your own alcohol (you can purchase them at the ferry terminal’s DFS). The cute floats in the photos are not provided – we actually lugged them all the way from Singapore!
